Drawing a Back and Oskar Kokoschka
30 minute study in graphite
Backs! oh boy! Trying to get the shading to suggest the skeletal/muscular structure of a back is really really challenging. I can see what i did right, but there are areas that are definately wrong. It's good that I can see them so I can correct next time. Still I am quite happy with it considering it was just a 30 minute pose.
Such an awkward angle but I love so much about this gouache and chalk drawing. The lines, and the use of modeling to show the spine, rib cage and scapula.
